750 Clock Tower

At the Village of Mendota Heights, the third and final phase of the project is the Clock Tower building, the mixed use award winner for Best in Real Estate of 2007. The $11.9 million building will be completed later this year. "It's really the signature piece", said Art Weeks, principal and vice president, Elness, Swenson Graham Architects Inc. of Minneapolis. Weeks said the design team drew inspiration from the town center in Lake Forest, Illinois. "The market square there is charming", he said, adding that the city hall has a tower, and there are boutiques and shops with office space above the street -level retail. "It's intimate and charming. It's timeless. We wanted to do something of that nature. The clock tower is the tallest of three towers in the Village and will be visible from the intersection of Highway 110 and Dodd Road. Another element that helps to create a presence for The Village is the decorative lighting, which Weeks said makes the project stand out.
